COLOR FOR DRY WINTER LIPS

Today's lip forecast? Zero percent chance of dry flaking lips and cracked wintery conditions, thanks to some moisture-inducing lip color favorites. I'm sure I am not the only one who suffers from chapped lips come winter, and it can be quite hard to keep them in tip-top shape at all times. I am always slicking on a lip balm of sorts, but constant reapplication has got my lips sacrificing color for the sake of moisture. Thankfully, there are some nourishing lip products out there for us lippie addicts who don't want to lose our lip game because of chapped lips. Listen up...

Let's start out on the end of the spectrum where things resemble a balmy texture but still give a hit of color. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments have been giving chapsticks everywhere a run for their money for quite some time now. Things look seriously smooth and feel nourished when wearing one of these lemon-sugar scented treats, not to mention they are forever expanding their cult favorite shade range to suit every color need. Similar in concept, but more waxy in texture lies the Benefit Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm. The main difference in these is that they leave a bit of a stain on the lips when the balmy texture wears away, which is totally welcome on my pucker anyday. While on the subject of stains, I couldn't not mention the stainiest of them all, Lipstick Queen Medieval is the perfect non-obnoxious red suspended in a smooth and uber hydrating formula. If you're looking for something that is sheer in color, but feels like butter on the lips with the sweet scent of frosting then you've found your new best friend in the NYX Butter Gloss. I assure you, you'll want to collect 'em all.

A bolder shade is what I tend to gravitate toward for a statement during the colder months and there are two formulas that stand out to me when it comes to delivering major color while keeping lips smooth and hydrated. The first is Burberry Lip Mist and it is all kinds of amazing. My favorite shade for winter is Oxblood, a sheer deep browny red that looks awesome on the lips and the formula is waxy and smooth all in one. The second that comes to mind is the Bite Beauty Lush Lip Tint, for it's high pigmented color and nourishing ingredients that give a glossy finish.

Are there any lip formulas that you rely on for color and moisture during the winter?
